For the last 100 years, dentists have used materials and techniques that required several appointments over several weeks to complete treatment for patients. Dentists would often schedule just one filling at each appointment but require that patient to return every two weeks for many months.
This is no longer necessary. Using modern technology, we can provide better results and complete your care in much less time ... often in only one well-planned visit. One Appointment Dentistry is about respecting your time. A "return visit" may only take a few minutes in the dental chair but may require two hours out of your day for driving, traffic, parking, etc. It may also require additional time off from your job, childcare arrangements, transportation considerations and possibly scheduling problems with coworkers or other family members.
We can now provide One Appointment Dentistry because we have done two things: we have acquired CAD/CAM (computer aided design / computer aided manufacturing) technology so we can complete a crown in our office in a little over one hour, AND we have re-organized the way we do things in our office to meet our patients' needs to get treatment completed in the least amount of time and the fewest visits possible. You no longer have to "come back for a filling," then, "come back for your cleaning," then, "come back for two more visits to have your crown done." In our office, with some appointment planning and coordination, you can have everything done in one well-organized visit.
If your time is important to you, or if you just don't relish the idea of multiple dental visits, ask us about One Appointment Dentistry. Some dental offices have changed over the last 100 years!
Each of these cases was done in one appointment of less than 2 hours.
